I’ve ported Almost Spring to TXP which is the last of 4 styles that I am looking at from Beccary. This isn’t one of my full-blown systems and is only suitable for TXP 4.0 and up because I’m still steering clear of plug-ins until there is a more concerted effort to get them updated. I’m using the standard search box and results have been styled. There are About and Contact pages built-in but no form mailer is used. If you want archives I’ll leave that up to the user. I have also included an “error_404” template for those that can use it. This facility will become available in 4.0.2 but if you keep up-to-date with SVN you can use it now.

This should be an easier style for newcomers to install whilst still giving them a few pointers on the basics of setting up a TXP site.

Why don’t you try the demo? All links in the demos will take you out of the style except for the article title permalink and comment invite link.

  1. You beat me to it!

I’d just finished doing the exact same thing when you started posting your Beccary themes.

Oh well. I’ll do something different for my first release. :)

  2. Oops. I gave the wrong URL. This one’s right though.

  4. Graeme, every time Stuart releases something I was working on, I give a sigh of relief. And I have been playing with Almost Spring for ages.

  5. It’s a very good skin. Seems a lot cleaner than mine.

I’m just wondering how you styled the comments. In the demo source, it looks like a list. But I can’t see anything like that in the installation files.

I’m probably missing something though. :D

  6. It’s originally styled for WP so if my memory serves me right the comments were covered by #commentlist. I don’t think the comment form was styled other than for background colours and I’ve only added a bit of spacing and the extra bit for the “Thank You” message. I’ve retained the original TXP table layout. I also added style for the paging and next article links too. This applies to all 4 of them.

My next one will be “Softened Cells” just to avoid us doubling-up again though I’m working here to get the demos on-line at the moment so it may be a few days yet. :)

  7. That didn’t answer the question did it? ;) In my port the comments are now covered by ol.comments but there is also a general ol,ul near the top of the CSS.
