Installation
1. The Plugins
Install the plugins within the plugin directory and make them active.
(which one is the plugin directory? And what do you mean by make active?)
2. The Images
Either upload the images using FTP or your Textpattern control panel. If you are using the control panel and the filenames of the images change, remember to change them in the pages as well.
(upload the images where? To which and what folder?)
You can find the main header images in the form named – “header-images”. You can find the RSS/ATOM images in the form named – “feeds”.
The header images may easily be changed to your personal choice. The dimension for each image is 65px in width by 75px in height.
3. The Pages
All of the pages can be found within the “pages” folder, as text files. Copy the contents of each file into the page (with the same filename) within your Textpattern control panel.
(copy the images where? Or load images where To which and what folder? )
Note: Within the pages, if you get an error about ‘sitename’ – you may need to change that varible to ‘site_name’.
4. The Forms
All of the forms can be found within the “forms” folder, as text files. You will need to create a few new forms – use the same filenames for your new forms, for the forms that already exist – copy and paste the new content into the Textpattern default forms with the same filename. The form ‘page’ needs to be of type ‘article’, and the others can be misc.
(Now the whole sentence is vague and confusing – which is the default forms folder and where is it found? Copy and paste where? And how? And at what place?)
5. The CSS
Create 3 css with the textpattern control panel with the names ‘default’, ‘shrink’, ‘stretch’, and copy over the css from the style folder. The ‘default-skin’ css needs to be uploaded into your main or root directory. If you grab alternate skins, you will have to upload it to the main directory and change the name within the ‘head’ form.
(how do you create a css? I assume from the page default? Ok I am lost change the name form how? And which is the head foem?)
6. The Sections
I am using only the default sections that comes with the Textpattern install. In your sections, verify that you have one called ‘default’, which uses the page called default and the css called default, also there is one called ‘archive’, which corresponds to ‘archive’ and ‘default’, and finally and ‘about’ section, which corresponds to about and default.
(OK this part I understand….however I am already lost so it is as good as usual.)
7. Articles
If you are writing articles that are not ‘posts’, for example, an about page, you may use the form_overwrite option and set it to ‘page’.
The homepage displays the article excerpts, you need to put in an excerpt on each article.
Could you fellows please Kindly put detailed and proper instruction on how to install templates thank you. Or could there be an easier way than this?
Is it me, or does the demo page not load the CSS for this template?
